Who this covers
This policy explains how Micheal Hilton (“I”, “me”) handles personal information collected through michealhilton.com. I am the data controller for that information. You can reach me at micheal@michealhilton.com about anything on this page.
What I collect
If you submit an application, I collect the information you enter: your name, age, email address, phone number, current club, playing level, position, country, your written answers about your situation and goals, your answers about investing in coaching, your Instagram handle if you choose to give it, and your preferred contact method.
I also record whether your application met my criteria for a conversation, and the reason if it did not. Nothing else about you is collected by the site itself.
Why I collect it
To read your application, decide whether the coaching is a sensible fit, and contact you about it. The lawful basis is legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you have chosen to send me, and where coaching follows, performance of a contract with you.
Who else sees it
Applications are processed and stored by Netlify, who host this site, and are emailed to my Google Workspace account. Both are established providers acting on my instructions, and both may process data outside the UK under standard safeguards. I do not sell your information, and I do not share it with other coaches, clubs or agents.
Tracking and advertising
This site uses the Meta pixel to measure the performance of advertising. It records page views and, when an application is submitted, whether it met my criteria. That information goes to Meta, who may link it to your Facebook or Instagram account and use it to show you advertising.
You can limit this through your Facebook and Instagram ad settings, or by blocking third-party tracking in your browser. Nothing on this site requires you to accept tracking in order to apply.
Young players
I coach young footballers, and applications are often completed by a parent or guardian. If you are under 16, please involve a parent or guardian before sending me your details. If a parent or guardian would like an application concerning their child removed, email me and I will delete it.
How long I keep it
Applications that do not lead to coaching are deleted within twelve months. Records relating to people I have coached are kept for as long as the coaching relationship lasts and for six years afterwards, which is the period I may need them for tax and legal purposes.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to how I am using it. Email micheal@michealhilton.com and I will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
